v1.0.27: large Excel file support
Version 1.0.27 adds support for very large Excel files. Spreadsheets that previously failed with resource limit exceeded (max_xml_nodes) now convert to Markdown.
What changed
The converter has a safety limit on how much XML it processes in one piece, and very large worksheets exceed it. A new splitter handles this. When a worksheet is too large, it:
- Cuts the sheet into chunks at row boundaries, so no row is ever split.
- Converts the chunks one after another.
- Joins the results back into a single table per sheet.
Workbooks with several sheets keep one heading and one table per sheet.
What you need to do
Nothing. Drop the file in as usual. Files that already worked take the same path as before, and the splitter only runs when a file would otherwise fail. Large files take longer, since the chunks are converted in sequence.
Dependencies
The document converter runs on the current Firecrawl anydoc release, v0.2.4, with our local patches. The Astro packages are updated as well.
